TAKE A TOUR

Take a "virtual" tour of the Crossroads Museum here. The museum serves as the hub of historical information for the area. Learn about key moments in Corinth, Mississippi history including:

• The importance of the downtown railroad crossing in Corinth history.

• The major roles Corinth played in the Civil War.

• Important aviation events in Corinth's history. Aviation pioneer Roscoe Turner was born in Corinth and homed his aviation skills in city repair shops before becoming the first person to fly nonstop over the Atlantic Ocean.

Permanent exhibit items include fossils; American Indian artifacts; displays on depot and railroad industry history; aviation memorabilia; and Civil War relics ranging from soldiers’ personal items to weapons and models of Corona College and the Tishomingo Hotel.

Items representing the area’s industrial past include a Wurlitzer organ and brick molds and products patented by Berry Hydraulics.

Rotating exhibits are featured throughout the year, and the museum also offers the Margaret Greene Rogers Research Library.

The depot still houses an office of the Kansas City Southern Railroad, and a bright red caboose sits on the museum grounds.
